A night at airport!!

After new year's blast in California the trip is not over yet..The adventure continues..Due to some unforeseen events, I am forced to spend a night at the airport!!
Well its not I, its WE.Me and my friend..Finally one night at the airport!!Since childhood especially in the primary school, we all had a very irritating subject for essays in the language exams.."One hour at the railway station", "One hour at the bus stop"..I am sure all of us are "PRO" in writing this essay! One of my cousins has the essay so well prepared that he just changes terms according to the place whether its bus stop or its the railway station..Place 'train' in place of 'bus' or 'platform' in place of the 'bus stop' or 'ticket checker' on 'conductor' and his essay is ready!!
Well I am not writing an essay right now..I hope this post is not giving you that feeling! Now lets get back to the LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT..So as I said, due to some unforeseen events I had to take some flight early in the morning..So being a caring and loving friend, my friends did not let me go to the airport..And knowing him, I saw no point in arguing.. But I am really thankful to him for joining me there.. Its hard to imagine what would I have done for such a long time..
So, we reached the airport in the night at around 10.30-11..Got the boarding passes..Then we had the whole night in front of us..Very Very excited..First I thought, its a great thing, finally we would be able to talk for a long long long time..So we went to the International terminal as their is no one at the domestic terminals in the night..Ok so, talking!!But then we realized we have no topics left to discuss the whole night..Then comes food..We grabbed some burgers and Fanta from McDonalds..Now we need a place where there is a charging station so that we can watch movies!! Well watching movies can be fun..There we realized, we have company!!There are many people here at the terminal..Most of them are sleeping..Some are chatting..Others are eating..Reading books!!And one guy who had been at the airport for last two days!!With no money and no food and no charging cord for his iphone!!
This guys was going to UK, but due to some weather conditions, his flight had been delayed..And somebody had stolen his wallet too..He was exercising, listening to music, talking to almost everyone..He was different..He had been in the united states for almost 11 years now..He hardly did any schooling in India..But he has seen every Indian film..All the movies, the old ones, the new ones, the hit ones, the flop ones!!ALL THE MOVIES..Before meeting him, I thought I have enough knowledge about hindi movies and songs but I was totally wrong..He could sing any hindi song with the right lyrics..He was talking about the songs and movies which I had never heard of!! He was giving his american accent to the hindi songs!!Hats off to him..How can anyone be so passionate about movies!!But I must admit, we spent quite a time with him..
In the morning, we returned to our terminal, I never thought there people actually get up and board flights at 4 in the morning..Then the security check!!After spending the whole night at the airport and after struggling very hard to make sure that everything gets into that small bag, if the officer opens your bag and removes your stuff, you fill awesome!! Finally we reached the gate and sat(almost slept) there for sometime before boarding the flight..
Finally I can say, now I can write a good essay about a night at the airport!!

Movies Movies and some more movies....

I had fantastic weekend!!! I finished with my exams finally...I have been watching movies the whole weekend..Started from "Mother India" and ended(for now) with "Mumbai Pune Mumbai"...It feels great!! Its really rear watching so many movies being a grad student!!
I am really fond of old hindi classics so I naturally started with one of the best film ever made "Mother India"..I always wanted to watch this movie..The details in the movie are really nice..Though its tough to relate to all those situations today but the way its put, still gives a perfect picture of what happened. I really liked the message that once you are trapped in a the vicious cycle of EMIs, sometimes not only you but even the  future generations are stuck there..Nargis Dutt has done a fantastic job.She has potrayed the character of Radha in the best possible way..I loved Sunil Dutt as Birju. Well I am no one to comment on the acting skills of these legends!!
Well after scrolling through n number of movies(n tends to almost 10) comes this next movie.."Mumbai Pune Mumbai"..I didn't even know about the movie. One of my friends suggested me to watch that. Its a great movie. It captured a place in "My Favorites". I loved the concept of the movie. And secondly, it felt great to see Tulshibaug, Saras Baug, Sinhgad..पुण्याचे रस्ते!! गर्दी , भेळवाले , CCD, प्रभात रोड  ..मस्त वाटल..I hope to enjoy more and more movies!!

An extra hour..

The daylight saving time ends today..This is the first day when I have 25 hours in a day!!!
I am very sure all of us wanted to have some more time..May be a day before the exam, may be on the birthday, may be the last day during vacations...There will be many more reasons, we want some extra time..And today I have it!!
25 hours in one day!!! Finally!!! There have been times when I wanted to have some extra time..On birthdays, during exams, vacations, sometimes just like that..
This concept of having an hour extra may look virtual to some of us as the clock automatically changes..You do not even realize as you are asleep when the clock changes..blaah blaah blaah...
But I am just feeling good as I have this extra hour!!  25 hours in a day..It sounds so nice... I hope you don't forget to change the analog clocks so as to be on the right time..

The bucket list

The bucket list is not a very new movie.Well I did not know anything about the movie. Its my friend who said lets watch it. I would suggest to add this movie into your 'to watch' list!

It is really a wonderful movie. It is a story of two terminally ill men.How they escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die.The two lead characters Carter and Edward are played by Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. Edward is a very rich and famous man, people find very hard to work with him.He is all alone, his pursuit of money has left him without any family or friends. On the other side, Carter is a very very knowledgeable man.He is still married with three children. He is a mechanic by profession and earns just sufficient to raise the family. But the most important aspect of carter's character is his general knowledge. He knows almost everything about anything. He has been reading a lot of books. Now these two completely different people are in the same room of the hospital. They understand that they do not have much time now. Here comes the bucket list.Carter lists his "things to do before dying". Edward reads that and convinces Carter to do all those things they have always wanted to do before they die.Now the journey begins. They travel a lot.I wont say around the world but almost around the world.
The journey is not important, what is important is what they become after the journey. What they feel after the journey.Edward gets back in touch with his daughter and Carter spends wonderful time with his family.
In Egypt, Carter describes the two questions.Ancient egyptians believe that when you die god asks you two question
1. Have you found joy in your life?
2. Has your life brought joy to others?

Do we have answers to this question?

How I met your mother!!!

These days I am watching this series. How I met your mother..I guess it will still take atleast 2 seasons unless Ted reveals who the mother is..

In this series there is this legendary character of Barney..I really love the way he says SUIT UP and awsome!! He adds humor to the show..

He plays this 'awsome' game "Have you met Ted?"

Then there are these two guys Marshell and Lily..They have never been single!!!

Then Robin, the carrier woman!!!She is a news reporter..

Now comes the lead..Ted..The guy who wants to get married..and if we go by his description of dream girl(soulmate in his words), there is a little probability that he will get married..

Well the thing about this show is I know people who are exactly like them..One of my freinds is exactly like Ted..Another one can not be single..There is a Robin in the group too..And then there is Barney..The one who suits up..Plays the have you met game!!

Sometimes I really wonder, how do we find similarities in your best friend and Monica (from friends), or how can there be a Ted in your group?

It is really fun to connect your friends and famous TV characters..Lets see what similarities we find in our friends and the famous tv characters!!

10/10/10 @ 10.10

I really love this date, this time..
It is just magical..Writing blog at this time makes me feel fantastic!!

I know people may think whats so special about it?
Well then this is a simple question for them, what is so special every other day in the year? What is special in any year? any decade?any moment??

My point here is, Its not the day, the year, the time that is special..We make it special..We make it magical..We do certain things on that day, those small little things make the day special..There is always something special in every day..Every day is special..What is so special in valentine's day or mother's day?We make it special by remembering our loved ones..We make it special by spending time with our loved ones..

I am reading a wonderful book by one of my all time favorite authors Paulo Coelho..The name of the book is "By the river Piedra I sat down and wept"..In this book the author describes the concept of magic moment..He says there is at least one magic moment in every day..Its up to us whether to believe it or not..to cherish that moment or not..to experience that moment or leave it..to live that moment or ignore it..

This concept of magic moment is a really good one..Seriously just think about it this way, Every night before going to bed, we will mentally go through the day and think of a magic moment..And there will be certainly at least one encounter/moment/act that will catch our attention..And it will definitely teach us something..

So my magic moment would be this moment 10/10/10 @ 10.10...
