I must say, showing the same story would have been a great challenge ! But the director has done an excellent work. Although the story is same , the movie is beautiful. Its a visual treat.
The story has been around for centuries and has been evolving since then. The Cinderella story , a dreamlike romance , a happy ending. The perfect Happily Every After , the prefect couple.

The story is about a girl. Her loss , he life , her love.. A story of true courage and kindness. A story that tells us we must be kind to all and must have the courage to say what needs to be said and do whats right.Not leaving everything to destiny , not giving up on the person you love.
Ella who loses her mother at a very young age. Learns to cope with her life and live it. To add to the suffering , her father remarries and she is gifted two sisters and a "loving" mother. Soon after the second wedding , her father passes away.
Now as Ella is growing up, she is treated as a servant. She is given all the household work. Luckily Cinderella got busy and had no time to weep. She keeps thinking about her parents , but now they are a distant memory to her. She tries to remember them. Lives those happy moments again and again in her mind.
One day when her tolerance ends and it gets unbearable, she rides her horse and get in to the jungle. Coincidentally on the same day the Prince is hunting. She gets really really angry and rides her horse. Coincidentally she meets the prince. She tells him that he should be kind to the Reindeer he is about to hunt. He says that what everyone does. Its a common practice, but she politely tells him, "Have courage to do the right thing. Just because its been done or a lot of people are doing it , its need not be the right thing. "
After this short encounter she disappears. The prince keeps thinking about her. He cant get her out of his mind.
This short encounter connects them. Both of them know in their hearts that , there is more to it. This cant be it. There has to be more. The instant connection they had cannot end like this. They have a strong sense of belonging to each other. May be it is love at first sight? or may be its like building castles in the air..
On this end Ella gets busy with the household work but on the back of mind , she is thinking about the charming prince. (As of now she is unaware that he is actually a prince). The other end the king is on his deathbed and wishes that the prince marries a princess and not a commoner. But prince who genuinely loves his father, tells his father that although he loves him but would like to pursue his love too. So he announces a royal ball and invites all the maidens in the kingdom.
On this end Ella is very excited about the ball too. She decides to wear her mothers dress and go to the ball. Her dreams are shattered when her step mother ruins her dress and tells her not to go.
Now the royal ball commences. Beautiful princesses from around the world , all maidens from the kingdom enter the royal hall. But the prince is looking only for the girl he had met. He is looking for only those eyes. On the other hand, Ella is crying alone at the house. And this is where magic happens , her fairy godmother transforms her , creates a carriage and asks her to go to the ball.
The moment Cinderella enters the royal ball , the prince knows who she is. Both of them feel the love they have for each other. Without saying even a word , they just know. They are just being in the moment. The time stops and they are just dancing to their heart's tunes. They lose the track of time.
But the spell will end at midnight. Cinderella has to get back. While running back from the palace , she forgets her shoe on the stairs.
Now the prince has just one shoe. He makes sure that his troops search the entire kingdom and find the girl. The shoe travels across the kingdom but it doesn't fit anyone.Finally there is only one house in the forest is left.
There is someone in his troops who doesn't want the prince to find the love of his life. His chief who is aware of Ella and trying to hide her. But the prince is determined , and when he sees that his chief is not cooperating , prince disguised as one of the soldiers reveals his real identity and gets the girl trapped in the attic.
Now when his soldiers go to the attic , Ella's stepmother tries to scare Ella and asks her to stay away but Ella has the courage to deny it and goes to the prince.
Finally the prince finds Ella and this is just the beginning of happily ever after!
